BEIJING, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- The 11th China-South Korea Media High-Level Dialogue was held in Beijing Wednesday, with representatives from nearly 30 media organizations from both sides discussing media's role in cultural communication and mutual learning between civilizations.

While addressing the event, Guo Weimin, deputy director of China's State Council Information Office (SCIO), said the SCIO will continue promoting media, cultural and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

Kim Yong-sam, first vice minister of culture, sports and tourism of the Republic of Korea (ROK), expressed the hope that media from the two countries could cooperate to make new contributions to the development of bilateral relations.

Attendees to the event agreed that media organizations should spread rational opinions, promote practical cooperation across the board and offer wisdom and strength for the healthy and stable development of the bilateral relations.

Established in 2009, the dialogue is aimed at boosting mutual trust and cooperation between media of China and the ROK. The two sides take turns in hosting the annual event.
