A promotional event spotlighting China's rising science fiction writers will be held on March 26 in Beijing, bringing together translators, publishers, and scholars from around the world to explore the global outlook of Chinese sci-fi.

Titled "Emerging Chinese Science Fiction Writers: An International Outlook", the event aims to introduce outstanding young writers to a wider audience, enhance the international influence of Chinese sci-fi literature, and promote cross-cultural exchange in the genre.

The event is jointly organized by the International Department of the China Writers Association and the sci-fi committee of the China Popular Science Writers Association, with support from publishing and cultural institutions.

Seven emerging representatives of contemporary Chinese science fiction will take center stage: Chen Qiufan, author of Waste Tide; Liang Qingsan, author of The Gun of the Beginning's End; Bao Shu, known for The Redemption of Time; Gu Shi, author of 2128 Overture; Wang Weilian, author of Wild Future; Shen Dacheng, author of The Ones in Remembrance; and Liang Ling, author of Anywhere Station.

They will be joined by established figures such as Liu Cixin, author of the globally acclaimed The Three-Body Problem, and Wang Jinkang, known for Seeds of Mercury, as well as other scholars in the sci-fi field.

International publishers, translators, and critics from countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Chile will participate online, offering insights into the global reception and future potential of Chinese sci-fi.

The event will take place at PAGEONE Bookstore in Beijing's Qianmen area from 7 pm to 9 pm, and will also be livestreamed via Zoom.
