"We are not leaving." In a video with his young daughter, Al Jazeera's Anas al-Sharif spoke these words. Late Sunday, he was killed alongside five colleagues when an Israeli strike hit their tent at the Al Shifa Hospital compound. Among the victims were fellow correspondent Mohammed Qreiqeh and camera operators Ibrahim Zaher and Mohammed Noufal. Also killed were freelance cameraman Momen Aliwa and freelance journalist Mohammed al-Khalidi. "I never hesitated to convey the truth as it is, without distortion or misrepresentation, hoping that God would witness those who remained silent," wrote al-Sharif in a social media message to be posted in the event of his death.
