Over 630 media organizations, ranging from central news agencies to county-level converged media centers, have recently issued their social responsibility reports for 2024, marking the 12th consecutive release since 2014.

There has been an increase of over 50 media organizations doing so compared to the previous year.

Eighteen provinces, including Jilin and Sichuan, expanded the coverage of their reports to include media outlets at the provincial, city and county levels.

In 2024, the news sector focused on central tasks, served overall interests and effectively fulfilled their responsibilities in the coverage of important events including the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the 25th anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland and the Paris Olympic Games.

The reports elaborated on media organizations' social responsibility, such as service, humanistic care, as well as cultural and moral responsibility.

In addition to publishing textual reports, 425 media organizations produced multimedia versions such as short videos and animations.

Over 490 media organizations created exhibition posters. Some media outlets held conferences and symposia for releasing reports.

The media social responsibility reports will be showcased on the website of the All-China Journalists Association. For the first time, the China Industry Newspaper Association and journalist associations of various provinces, regions and municipalities have set up platforms to display reports from national industry media and local media organizations to enhance the reports' influences.
