The 3rd press and publishing think tank summit forum was held in Changchun, capital of Northeast China's Jilin province, on July 31.

It was held under the auspices of the Publishers Association of China, the China Taofen Foundation, the China Association of Pictorials and the Publicity Department of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee.

More than 300 people attended the event, including over 60 experts and academics and delegates from press and publishing agencies, research institutes, universities and companies.

The forum was themed on promoting high-quality development in the press and publishing sector, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

During the main forum, experts exchanged ideas on ways to seek development and reforms in the press and publishing sector, how to establish a national publishing foundation and on future developments in the sector.

Four sub-forums were also held, where attendees discussed the overall development of media organizations, applications of AI technology in press and publishing, applications of 5G in the sector and reforms and development of national publishing foundations.

An unveiling ceremony for the new Jilin press and publishing integrated development research institute and a donation ceremony for wall charts for over 5,900 middle and primary schools in Jilin province were also held during the event.

In addition, a report on international digital publishing developments, a report on applications of VR technology in the press and publishing industry, a report on AI and developments in the press and publishing industry, and more, were released at the forum.
